The Meridium Hazards Analysis module is part of an overall risk management work practice focused on identifying risks, assessing risk levels and managing the reduction of those risks.
An enterprise-level solution based on international hazards analysis standards such as IEC 61882 Hazards and Operability Studies Application Guide, Meridium Hazards Analysis addresses the need to maintain, manage and follow through safety related recommendations as well as address compliance requirements.
The Meridium Hazards Analysis module provides a mechanism and standard methodology for conducting HAZOPs and What If analyses, offering:
- a common definition of risk for global analysis of risks
- management of recommendations, which is key to the success of a Hazards Analysis
- a way to implement best practice work processes that can be used to analyze the effectiveness of the strategies to mitigate risks and make improvements as necessary
This module works in conjunction with with mechanical integrity initiatives, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and asset criticality analyses, and integrates with these other Meridium modules: SIS Management, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Risk Based Inspection and Asset Strategy Management.
