Condition assessment provides visibility into the performance of physical assets, which typically have conditions that are monitored either manually or via an automated process. These conditions provide an indication of the asset's overall fitness for service or health and can be defined with criteria to both provide awareness of an acceptable status and trigger warnings and alarms for undesirable conditions. The visibility to these conditions provides the ability to respond proactively to emerging problems. It also provides the awareness of operating situations that are deviating from expected design and strategy management boundaries.
Meridium's Asset Health Indicators (AHI) application provides the ability to define and manage asset conditions for comprehensive asset performance management. This solution is designed to provide visibility into asset conditions by leveraging the existing sources of data in your organization. Thus, analysts may assign health indicators to conditions that are managed within the Meridium Asset Performance Management or integrated systems. The focus is to monitor data that is relevant for asset performance analysis and condition assessment such as:
- Data checked periodically through activities such as operator rounds
- Asset performance history such as key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Excursion events from a process historian
Asset Health Indicators are defined with high and low criteria for warning and alarm conditions. This information triggers personnel to take appropriate follow-up action.
AHI features and benefits include:
- Visibility of critical information
- Alarm acknowledgement
- Integration with the enterprise
- AHI is fully integrated with Meridium's Asset Strategy Management (ASM) product. When viewing an asset strategy in ASM, an analyst may set health indicators on the strategy. Indicators on strategies provide a means to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy, as well as an operating envelope for which the strategy is valid. Additionally, an analyst may set health indicators on individual actions. Indicators on actions provide a condition to check during the execution of the action.
- AHI is also fully integrated with Meridium's Operator Rounds product. When setting up health indicators on an asset existing measurement locations can be used as the source of a health indicator. Additionally AHI can be used as a visual tool to monitor operator rounds checks for warning or alarm conditions.
- AHI can be integrated with existing Meridium data sources for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Measurement Locations. AHI may be extended to any other source data integrated with Meridium as part of the implemented solution.
The Meridium Asset Health Indicators solution is part of APM Framework, the foundation of the Meridium APM system, which serves to connect all Meridium modules to form a comprehensive and fully integrated solution. The Meridium APM Framework provides the tools and baseline functionality that you need to develop a powerful solution that supports your workflows and has the flexibility needed to meet changing business needs.
