American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers
Meridium is a member of the organization that works for the petrochemical and refining industries on issues important to their business. AFPM seeks to inform policymakers and the public how the refining industries help improve lives, strengthen the economy, protect the environment and promote national security. Meridium holds a seat on AFPM’s Maintenance and Reliability Subcommittee and also actively participates in many of AFPM’s conferences and events.

American Petroleum Institute (API)
Meridium is an assocaite member of the American Petroleum Institute (API), the only national trade association that represents all aspects of America’s oil and natural gas industry. With more than 400 corporate members, from the largest major oil company to the smallest of independents, all segments of the industry are represented. They are producers, refiners, suppliers, pipeline operators and marine transporters, as well as service and supply companies.

For more than 75 years, API has led the development of petroleum and petrochemical equipment and operating standards. These represent the industry’s collective wisdom on everything from drill bits to environmental protection and embrace proven, sound engineering and operating practices and safe, interchangeable equipment and materials.

Although API’s focus is primarily domestic, in recent years API has expanded to include a growing international dimension, and today API is recognized around the world for its broad range of programs including: advocacy, research and statistics, standards, certification, and education.

Meridium is a certified member of The OPC Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring interoperability in automation by creating and maintaining open specifications that standardize communication of acquired process data, alarm and event records, historical data, and batch data to multi-vendor enterprise systems and between production devices. Production devices include sensors, instruments, PLCs, RTUs, DCSs, HMIs, historians, trending subsystems, alarm subsystems, and more as used in the process industry, manufacturing, and in acquiring and transporting oil, gas, and minerals.

Meridium is proud to be an executive member of SMRP, which is a non-profit, independent organization dedicated to furthering professionals in the maintenance and reliability fields. SMRP facilitates information exchange through a structured network of maintenance and reliability professionals and promotes and supports maintenance and reliability education for people, production and quality processes to improve the work environment. Meridium is a member of the benchmarking and metrics committees and actively participates in SMRP conferences and events. Meridium also offers the SMRP’s Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) examination each year at Meridium Conference.

The Institute of Asset Management
Meridium is a corporate member of the IAM, a non-profit, independent organization for those involved in the acquisition, operation and care of physical assets - especially critical infrastructure. The IAM is the foremost body internationally for strategic asset management and is leading the production of PAS 55, a recognized international standard for asset management. The IAM exists to advance the science and practice of asset management for the public benefit, to promote and recognize high standards of practice and professional competence, and to generate widespread awareness and understanding of the discipline.

The Reliability and Maintainability Center (RMC) is an industry-supported center within the College of Engineering at The University of Tennessee. The RMC exists to advance maintenance and reliability education and practices within the academic and industrial communities. The RMC creates opportunities for member companies, students, faculty, and industry to achieve exceptional value through a comprehensive program of education, research, and information sharing. Founded in 1996, the RMC now has over 30 member companies.
